Bark extract to prevent coccidiosis in lambs

There is an increasing risk of development of resistance against antibiotics and anthelmintics in the livestock population, and this may also affect human health in the future.Because of this, there is now an international focus in testing different plants and plant extracts against livestock parasites. In this pilot study we tested tannin extracts from Norwegian spruce and pine against Eimeria spp (a common coccidiae in Norway) in lambs.
