This project aims to establish welfare indicators and describe recommendable systems for outdoor pigs.

In this project, we will collect data from the literature and experience from a number of Norwegian farms that practice exit for the pig. The goal is to establish protocols for how we can assess the pig's welfare and how we can avoid the risk of the animals becoming infected with serious diseases.
