Local food

Møre og Romsdal features a rich agricultural production, which is essential for vibrant rural communities and local food security. Despite the growing demand, the local food market remains fragmented and unclear. The catering industry struggles to source locally produced food for their eager customers.

Stimulating cooperation beetween local producers

From 2024 to 2026, a series of activities, gatherings, and courses will be organized to encourage increased collaboration between local food producers and the catering and tourism industry:

  • Product Development Workshops: A creative space where chefs and farmers come together to explore and adapt locally produced food to the market.
  • Networking Gatherings: Inspiring meetings with speeches and product exhibitions to promote sales collaboration.
  • Digital Agronomy and Ecology Seminars: NORSØK and NLR share their expertise to succeed in organic cultivation of vegetables, fruits, and berries.
  • Digital Marketing and Economy Course Series: Hosted by Matarena. See the program here.
  • Farm Visits: Educational trips to gather knowledge and inspiration from skilled producers of vegetables, fruits, and berries.

Additionally, logistics master's students from Molde University College will contribute research on value chains and logistical solutions.
